Maureen uses a variety of fun musical instruments, original songs and age-appropriate activities to teach basic music skills and explore, create and imagine.
WARMING
UP……Using
movement activities and her original songs such as The Slide Whistle Sweet,
Snickety, Snackety, Snoo, Scaling With You,
and The Polar Freeze, young children move and sing down and up the musical
scale.
EXPOSURE TO THE CLASSICAL ARTISTS……….using a variety of
Classical music selections used to accompany props and rhythm instruments,
children gain an exposure to the works of artists like Bach, Beethoven and
Mozart. Children move with colorful ribbon wands, crepe paper streamers,
beanbags, parachutes, floating coffee filter snowflakes or nocturnal foam
creatures as they explore the feeling and movement of the music.
THE HAPPY NOTES RHYTHM BAND…… has children exploring the sights and sounds of music from around the world and introduces them to a steady beat and rhythm patterns created using children’s percussion instruments from far away places, colorful tone tubes and homemade recycled rhythm instruments.
STARS
SHINE THROUGH….as children sparkle with joy and laughter as they
interact with Maureen’s vast collection of puppet friends. The silly
faces and antics of “Jazzman”, “Squeakers the Piano Playing
Clown” and “Congo the Camel Monkey” delight audiences during
Maureen’s musical performances and classes .
SING ME A STORY……...When put to music, children’s stories
provides an opportunity to sing, explore vocal inflection, incorporate musical
instruments, develop creativity, and use a steady beat with body percussion.
